Butch

Dreadnaught Guitar

I hadn't been playing the guitar long when I realized that not all guitars are equal.  I had an entry level guitar to start with and it sounded alright until I got to play a nice Gibson and a nice Martin.  I noticed that most Bluegrass musicians were playing a Martin so that is the guitar I wanted.  Started saving my money.  I started seeing some of Mark’s guitars around and noticed the quality of the workmanship in these guitars and was really impressed.  I also got to know Mark and was equally impressed with him.  I had the opportunity to see and play the guitar he built for Dale and knew that I wanted a guitar built by him.  I talked to him at a festival in Guyton and asked him if he would build me a guitar.  I didn't exactly know what I wanted in a Guitar except the fact I wanted the strings just a little wider than standard because I was having trouble on most guitars cording the A7. The rest I left up to him.  He told me then he had some materials he had been saving to build a special Guitar.  When he delivered the guitar to me I was completely blown away.  It was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen.  Even more amazing was the fact it sounded as good as it looked.  I have had a bunch of people play this guitar and they have been just as impressed with it as I am.  It is a one of a kind built especially for me, my most prized possession and most of the time my constant companion.  If anyone ever plays one of Mark’s guitars, logged in the back of their mind is....." Damn, I have to have one of these Gresham's". Playing is believing.
